8/13/2023 0 Comments Le peep greenville![]() The Poison Ivy would be perfect on a summer day. My second drink was the Poison Ivy (everyone loved the name). I’m not much of a gin drinker, but I was feeling adventurous since I had already stepped out of my box. The first was the Three Card Monte (Hat Trick Gin, fresh lemon juice, house-made honey simple syrup, bitter and club soda). With it’s chic decor of chandeliers and tattoo inspired graffiti on the walls, Ink n Ivy is open for lunch, dinner and brunch on weekends with a menu ranging from a raw bar to soups, salads, sandwiches and steaks and makes for a great place to meet with friends for happy hour or dinner, a family dinner, or just to hang out at one of the 3 bars, one of which is on the roof that has not opened yet, but is highly anticipated. Ink n Ivy is apart of Charlotte-based The Bottle Cap Group, which is starting to make a large presence in Downtown Greenville with the opening of Brazwell’s Pub near Falls Park, Ink n Ivy and a 24 hour diner coming to Coffee Street in the future. ![]() In case you haven’t heard of Ink n Ivy, it just opened this summer on the corner of Brown and Coffee Streets, where Corner Pocket was located. If you know me, you know that socializing and networking aren’t my niche, which is what this meet up was for, but I did have a fun time. This week I decided to be social and I met with a few local bloggers at one of Greenville’s newest restaurants, Ink n Ivy. I think the venue should dismiss the waitresses, and rehire the ones that prove they know the menu, specific items on the menu, are not socially awkward & attentive.Every now and then I get the courage to step out of my little bubble and do something out of my norm. This place looks so promising, unfortunately it failed to deliver. *the south of the border options were also not made correctly - I am sure they left out the taco seasoning that was suppose to be added to the beans, since the dish tasted bland. *UNFORTUNATELY, two of the south of boarder items came out cold– so we had to send them back. *I really enjoyed the sweet crepe (hence the two stars) -they claimed they were going to give me fresh fruit assortment which consisted of JUST strawberries. *She messed up the checks and put other people items on other peoples checks. *She did not come back to fill water back up in our jug: we had to flag her down in order to get water refills. *when I asked her what the red sauce side was, she proclaimed it was hollandaise sauce - I quickly responded by pointing to the hollandaise sauce and claimed that “this yellow sauce” was hollandaise sauce. All of us did not receive refills unprompted –which i hate! I mean hello, all you need to do is drop off a water jug at our table! ![]() I was lucky, my food was neither cold or under seasoned, I enjoyed my meal (sweet crepe and the salmon benedict), but my friends had horrible experiences, their dishes came out cold, or certain components of their orders were left out (like skim milk for tea). ![]() True to form, the service was bad for me and my friends as well. I had read Yelp reviews on it, and they all echoed the theme: bad service. The items on the menu are great, but unfortunately the service staff is horrible. This is great because Greenville doesn’t have too many great brunch spots. Le Peep just opened up in Greenville, SC.
